In 2004, Mark Zuckerberg created the social media platform Facebook to help students connect on his campus at Harvard. Facebook became so successful that it transitioned from a college platform to a cross section of users around the world. In light of colleges all over the country resorting to remote learning, Facebook is launching “Facebook Campus” to help students stay connected with their campus communities. It appears as though Zuckerburg wants to reach out to his original target audience by creating a specific social media space within Facebook for college students on their campuses.
