Responsible Digital Citizenship – What Is It?

Introduction Video

You’ve heard it’s important to be a good citizen, right? Being a citizen means belonging and being a part of a group. So when you are told to be a “ good digital citizen”, it means being safe, responsible, and respectful online and when using any kind of technology.  Being safe means that you should never share personal information on the internet.  Being responsible means that you take care of the device you have, use it in a positive way and don’t take credit for other people’s work. Being respectful means that you’ll think before posting, you won’t take part in cyberbullying, and you are aware of the rights and privacy of others. As parents, it’s important to teach your children that being a good digital citizen is just as important as being a good citizen in your community.
